What We Do Not Accept
We turn down advertising that would put readers at risk or that we could not defend to them. That includes:
- Immigration or visa services that promise outcomes, guaranteed approvals, or routes that do not exist. Our migration readers are among the most heavily targeted people online, and we will not sell access to them for this.
- “Guaranteed scholarship” and application-fee schemes.
- Get-rich-quick, high-risk trading and cryptocurrency promotions.
- Anything unlawful, deceptive, adult, or aimed at exploiting readers in a vulnerable position.
- Links intended to manipulate search rankings. We do not sell links that pass ranking credit; sponsored and affiliate links here are marked accordingly.
Editorial independence is not negotiable. Advertisers have no influence over what we cover or what we conclude, and buying advertising does not buy favourable coverage or protect anyone from critical coverage.
Programmatic Advertising
Alongside direct advertising, Gist Edge carries programmatic advertising served by Google and other networks. Those ads are selected by the networks rather than by us. How advertising cookies work, and how readers opt out of personalised ads, is set out in our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy.
