The world of wrestling is mourning a colossal loss as WWE legend Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, passed away at the age of 71 on July 24 in Florida. Official documents confirm the cause of death as acute myocardial infarction (heart attack).

It was also revealed that the wrestling icon had been quietly battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and atrial fibrillation — a serious heart rhythm disorder.

According to Page Six, Hogan’s death has been ruled as natural causes, with a cremation request already filed at the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center.

Close friend and wrestling executive Eric Bischoff spoke tearfully on his 83 Weeks podcast, recalling their last call. “He sounded tired… he told me, ‘I really want to see you, but I’m kind of embarrassed for you to see me this way.’” Despite his condition, Bischoff said Hogan’s spirit remained strong: “It was work for him to talk, but he was still Hulk.”

His daughter, Brooke Hogan, broke her silence in an emotional Instagram post, reflecting on their complicated bond. “When he left this earth, it felt like part of my spirit left with him,” she wrote. While she acknowledged past struggles in their relationship, she shared that they reconciled during his final months. “We’d been through nearly 25 surgeries together… then everything became covered in a thick veil.”

The wrestling world, fans, and fellow stars continue to pour out tributes for the man who defined an era of sports entertainment.
