A Nigerian mother who recently sparked outrage online after a video showed her appearing to feed her 5-month-old baby alcohol has now broken her silence.
In a new video making the rounds, the nursing mum claimed that the viral clip was purely staged for content purposes. According to her, the liquid given to her baby wasn’t alcohol but a soft drink she poured into an empty alcoholic sachet just to make it seem controversial enough to go viral.
She explained that her baby is only five months old and insisted she would never intentionally harm the child. The mother admitted it was a misguided attempt at creating viral content, unaware of the serious backlash it would attract.
Recall that the Nigerian Police had earlier reacted to the video, condemning the act and urging anyone with helpful information to come forward to aid in her arrest and possible prosecution.
This incident has continued to trigger massive reactions online as many express deep concern about the lengths people go for social media clout.
