Super Eagles superstar Victor Osimhen has made headlines again this time for turning down a jaw-dropping £25.3 million-a-year offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al-Hilal. Despite the club meeting his €75 million release clause, the Nigerian striker said “No thanks” as he sets his sights on a more competitive challenge in Europe.
After a red-hot season at Galatasaray, where he netted 37 goals in 41 appearances while on loan from Napoli, Osimhen is now attracting major interest from top clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Barcelona, and even Real Madrid.
According to Football Italia, the 26-year-old forward is not ready to trade Champions League dreams for oil money just yet. Al-Hilal wanted him as a marquee signing for their Club World Cup campaign, but Osimhen’s heart appears set on the Premier League or another elite European league.
Eric Chelle, Osimhen’s international coach, praised the star, saying:
“Victor is, for me, the best striker in the world. A player like him can’t be 100% focused right now—he has the biggest clubs chasing him.”
With Napoli ready to cash in this summer, fans can expect a bidding war that could reshape the next season’s football landscape.
