Veteran Nollywood icon Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has sparked major conversations online after a clip from his sit-down with skit maker Isbae U went viral — and let’s just say, the seasoned actor wasn’t smiling.

During an episode of Isbae U’s trending YouTube series Curiosity Made Me Ask, the young content creator, whose real name is Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, repeatedly addressed the 63-year-old actor as “Richard.” What seemed like casual banter didn’t sit well with RMD, who felt the approach lacked basic courtesy, especially coming from someone younger, both in age and industry experience.

The moment quickly stirred reactions across social media, with many fans calling out Isbae U for breaking cultural norms of respect — especially in African entertainment circles where titles and honorifics matter. RMD, never one to shy away from speaking his mind, addressed the slip head-on, reminding the skit maker of the importance of respect.

To drive his point home, the legendary actor even mentioned Isbae U’s late father, veteran Yoruba actor Kamal Adebayo (aka Sir Kay-Kamoru), who passed away in 2022. While some applauded RMD for standing up for generational respect, others felt the mention of Isbae’s late father crossed an emotional line. Either way, the internet hasn’t stopped buzzing!

When Isbae U said; “So Richard”

RMD swiftly interrupted; “Your father, your father, your papa, your papa left toe.”
