Controversial critic VeryDarkMan has offered a tearful yet sarcastic apology to gospel singer Mercy Chinwo following the N1.1 billion defamation lawsuit filed against him.
The lawsuit, dated March 3, stemmed from his Instagram posts where he accused Chinwo of withholding her performance earnings instead of remitting them to her former record label, run by Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as EeZee Tee.
Reacting to the lawsuit, VDM shared a post listing several individuals who have sued him, admitting he cannot meet all the financial demands.
In a dramatic moment, he pretended to cry and jokingly pleaded with Mercy Chinwo to reduce the lawsuit to N5 million, even singing some of her songs while claiming that’s all he could afford.
“Una go kee me, the money wey dey inside the NGO sef no reach that amount. I know this case is not a case I can go on, so it is better I tender an apology. Mercy, don’t let the devil use you. I don’t have N1bn to pay in case you win. Abeg, I am not saying you should not sue, reduce the money, maybe to N5m,” he stated.
