Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has been excluded from Real Sociedad’s pre-season tour to Japan, sparking strong speculation about his future with the La Liga club.
The 28-year-old, who joined Sociedad from Almería in 2022 for €20 million, has struggled to find his footing and now appears to be out of new manager Sergio Francisco’s plans for the coming season.
Sadiq was also absent in a recent friendly against French side Pau FC, further fueling transfer talks. Reports from Levante-EMV claim that Sociedad’s management is actively working on a potential exit deal, with Valencia showing interest in re-signing him—though any move may be delayed until the final stages of the transfer window for financial reasons.
The Nigerian international had a decent spell at Valencia on loan last season, netting 6 goals in 19 appearances, and is now being tipped for a permanent switch.
