Popular TikTok content creator and social commentator, Tunde Akinpelu better known as Tunde Perry has ignited a wave of reactions on social media after releasing a bold and passionate video addressing tribal tensions in Nigeria. The viral video came in response to controversial remarks made by outspoken activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) regarding the recent arrest of billionaire businessman E-Money.
VDM had claimed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was operating with tribal bias by singling out E-Money, an Igbo businessman, while allegedly turning a blind eye to similar behavior by the Okoya brothers. This sparked a heated online debate, with many accusing VDM of inciting unnecessary ethnic sentiments.
Tunde Perry, however, was quick to respond. In his now-trending video, he strongly warned against weaponizing tribalism to justify wrongdoing. He urged influencers and online personalities to be cautious with their narratives, stressing that Nigeria’s strength lies in the unity of its major ethnic groups—Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa. According to Perry, creating division only fuels more tension in an already delicate society.
His message resonated with thousands, prompting widespread engagement as people across the country weighed in with support and criticism.
Meanwhile, E-Money real name Emeka Okonkwo Daniel has been released from custody after facing allegations of spraying naira and foreign currency at Obi Cubana’s birthday bash. He has since taken to social media to thank his fans for their unwavering support during the ordeal.
