In a shocking twist that has taken fans by surprise, viral sensation and TikTok megastar Khaby Lame has voluntarily left the United States after being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over immigration violations.

According to a statement by an ICE spokesperson to Mail Online, Khaby — born Seringe Khabane Lame in Senegal and a citizen of Italy — was detained on June 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas for overstaying the terms of his visa. The 25-year-old entered the U.S. on April 30 but reportedly remained in the country longer than permitted. Following the violation, Khaby was granted voluntary departure and has since left the country.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, for immigration violations,” the ICE statement read.

This incident comes amid a wave of mass deportations under U.S. President Donald Trump, who has returned to power and intensified immigration enforcement. ICE has been conducting nationwide raids, resulting in hundreds of thousands of arrests and deportations of undocumented individuals.

Khaby, who holds 162.2 million followers on TikTok and is famous for his silent, hilarious reaction videos, moved to Italy at age one and officially became an Italian citizen in 2022. His account, @khaby.lame, remains one of the most followed globally.

Fans are already rallying behind him online, hoping this doesn’t slow down his global success.
