Legendary Nigerian rapper MI Abaga has joined the rising chorus of heartbreak and condemnation over the gruesome massacre in Benue State, which has left the nation in shock and mourning. Taking to social media platform X, the respected artist poured out his soul in a moving tribute that resonated deeply with fans and fellow citizens.

“My heart is heavy,” MI wrote. “It breaks me to witness the Middle Belt — my home — bleed this way. The recent killings in Benue are not just numbers on a chart. These are real people. Our brothers. Our sisters. Our parents. Our communities. We are watching our own fade away.”

MI emphasized the need for solidarity and empathy, saying, “I stand with Benue. Your pain is my pain. We can’t continue to normalize this horror — this cycle of violence must end.”

He concluded with a vow: “To the souls we’ve lost, you will never be forgotten. To the people still standing strong, we are standing with you.”
