Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has come out to strongly debunk a viral quote circulating online, falsely attributing pro-Tinubu remarks to her.
The football star, who impressed fans with her standout performance at WAFCON — scoring 2 goals and assisting 6 times became the subject of controversy after a verified Instagram page, @renewedhope2027, posted a quote claiming she praised President Tinubu after the team’s visit to Aso Rock.
The alleged quote had her gushing over Tinubu, saying she was initially misled by negative narratives but changed her opinion after meeting him, even stating, “If you meet him, you’ll definitely fall in love with him.”
But Esther wasn’t having it. She took to Snapchat, sharing a screenshot of the post with a blunt caption: “Abeg, when did I talk this one?” alongside an SMH emoji.
The denial has sparked reactions online, with fans slamming the page for misinformation.
