The Super Eagles of Nigeria have officially booked their place in the Round of 16 at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco after a thrilling 3–2 victory over Tunisia on Saturday night at the Fez Stadium. It was a night of brilliance, teamwork, and pure Nigerian resilience.
Victor Osimhen set the tone just before halftime, opening the scoring in the 44th minute after latching onto a perfectly delivered cross from Ademola Lookman. Shortly after the restart, team captain Wilfred Ndidi doubled Nigeria’s advantage in the 50th minute, once again benefiting from Lookman’s creative brilliance.
The trio combined again in the 70th minute, as Lookman capped off a stunning performance by scoring Nigeria’s third goal, this time assisted by Osimhen.
Tunisia fought back with a goal from Montassar Talbi and a late penalty converted by Ali Al-Abdi, but Nigeria held firm to secure all three points. With six points from two matches, the Super Eagles soar confidently into the knockout stage, sending a strong message to the rest of Africa.
