American rapper Lil Nas X is back in the headlines after missing a scheduled court hearing in Los Angeles on September 15, with his legal team revealing he has checked into an inpatient treatment program.
The 26-year-old star, born Montero Lamar Hill, was expected for a pre-trial hearing linked to his shocking public nude meltdown and arrest last month.
Instead, his lawyers informed the judge that he is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed facility outside California. Judge Shellie Samuels permitted him to remain out of state while in inpatient care but stressed that conditions would change if his program switches to outpatient.
His next court date is now set for November 18. Fans will recall that in August, Lil Nas X was arrested after stripping naked on a Los Angeles street and allegedly resisting police officers. The rapper later admitted his brief time in jail was “terrifying” but reassured fans he would be fine.
