American rapper Rod Wave, born Rodarius Green, had a dramatic day recently—earning his first Grammy nomination while also finding himself in police custody. According to reports by TMZ, the Atlanta-based rapper was arrested on charges including possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
Authorities said the arrest followed a domestic disturbance call that led to the discovery of an unreported burglary and a discharged firearm. Rod Wave later turned himself in and was released on bond, with the case still under investigation.
Despite the legal troubles, the rapper received his first Grammy nomination for the song “Sinners”, featured in the soundtrack of the horror-action film of the same name. The track is nominated in the Best Song Written for Visual Media category.
Fans have expressed mixed reactions to the news, celebrating his Grammy milestone while following updates on his legal situation.
