Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has sent a passionate plea to his former club, urging them to snap up Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen before it’s too late. Speaking during a talkSPORT session with tennis star Nick Kyrgios, Ferdinand didn’t hold back, saying he would be “disappointed” if the Super Eagles star ends up at Turkish side Galatasaray instead of Old Trafford.
With Arsenal closing in on Viktor Gyökeres, Ferdinand stressed the urgency for United to strengthen their frontline. He praised Osimhen as a proven goal machine capable of performing at the highest level and questioned why United are yet to move.
Reports suggest Galatasaray have already tabled a £50 million bid for the Napoli striker—a fee Ferdinand slammed as “absolute peanuts” in today’s market.
“I’ll be gutted if Osimhen joins Galatasaray for that price when Man United are still looking for a top No. 9,” he said. “But if United get Osimhen, then I wouldn’t be too concerned going into the season.”
