It’s raining rewards for Nigeria’s queens of the court, D’Tigress, as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu rolled out the red carpet on Monday to celebrate their epic win at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship!
Each player was gifted a whopping $100,000, a brand-new apartment at the Renewed Hope Estate, and the prestigious Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) national honour. Coaches and technical crew weren’t left out—they each received $50,000 and the same honour.
The announcement was made by Vice President Kashim Shettima during a grand presidential reception at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja. First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Nana Shettima, Femi Gbajabiamila, and other top dignitaries were there to celebrate the iconic win.
D’Tigress made history with their fifth consecutive AfroBasket title—and seventh overall—after beating Mali 78–64 in Abidjan. These women are unstoppable!
