President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has showered the victorious D’Tigress with massive rewards following their historic win at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket Championship! Each player is walking away with a whopping $100,000, a 3-bedroom flat, and a national honour (OON) – talk about balling on and off the court!
During a grand reception at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, VP Kashim Shettima made the announcement, celebrating the team’s 78–64 victory over Mali in the finals. Coaches and crew were also honoured with $50,000, houses, and OON titles.
D’Tigress have now claimed their fifth straight AfroBasket title and seventh overall, solidifying their place as the undisputed queens of African basketball. 💪🏽🏆 The event was graced by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Nana Shettima, and top government officials who hailed the team’s legacy of excellence.
