President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially signed the N54.99 trillion 2025 Appropriation Bill into law. The National Assembly passed the bill on February 13, 2025, after increasing it from the initial N49.7 trillion proposed by the president.
The signing ceremony took place in the president’s office on February 28, attended by key lawmakers, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The 2025 budget reflects a significant 99.96% rise from the N27.5 trillion allocated in 2024.
It includes N3.65 trillion for statutory transfers, N13.64 trillion for recurrent expenditure, N23.96 trillion for capital expenditure, and N14.32 trillion for debt servicing, with a deficit-to-GDP ratio of 1.52%.
