The ongoing tension between street-hop sensation Portable and Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has taken a fiery new turn — and it just hit the music charts!
Earlier this week, Portable, known for never backing down from controversy, called out Laide Bakare in a viral video, claiming she invited him to perform at her event but couldn’t afford to pay him. According to the Zazu crooner, he turned down the invite, only for Laide to allegedly fire back, calling him “a dirty boy from Sango.”
But Laide wasn’t about to let that slide. In a fierce Yoruba-laced clapback video, the actress warned Portable to stop mentioning her name, even threatening to “dabara bo e” — a slang that roughly translates to slapping sense into someone.
Now, Portable has responded the only way he knows best — through music! He’s released a brand-new diss track targeting Laide Bakare directly. In a cheeky move, he turned her own insult into the song’s chorus, mocking her threats with signature street slang and raw energy.
