Senior Pastor of House on The Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has finally addressed the viral video that sparked outrage across social media, where he was accused of pointing a firearm at a content creator. The incident, which occurred on Friday, June 6, showed Pastor Adefarasin in his car approaching a content creator filming him. The pastor wound down his window to caution the individual while holding an object that many online claimed looked like a gun. The content creator immediately apologized, and the pastor drove off.
The video quickly gained traction, with many Nigerians questioning why a man of God would allegedly brandish a weapon at an unarmed citizen.
Addressing the controversy during a sermon on Sunday, June 8, Pastor Paul said the entire situation was a spiritual attack—not just on him, but on the Church. He emphasized that the incident was fueled by clickbait culture, aimed at monetizing false narratives.
“I was falsely accused of pointing a firearm,” he said. “I do not have a gun license, I do not carry firearms, and I certainly didn’t point one at anyone. What I had in my hand wasn’t a gun. The content creator came very close less than a meter from my vehicle and the object I held has been misrepresented.”
He went on to say the incident is a tactic of the enemy rooted in the love of money and a deliberate attempt to drag his name through the mud for views and online engagement.
