Former Arsenal and Chelsea defender, William Gallas, has weighed in on Arsenal’s transfer strategy, backing the club’s decision to steer clear of Nigerian goal machine Victor Osimhen.
Despite Osimhen’s red-hot form during his loan spell at Galatasaray, where he netted a staggering 37 goals and 8 assists, Gallas insists the Napoli star isn’t suited for Mikel Arteta’s tactical system.
In a chat with Prime Casino, Gallas explained, “Osimhen is world-class, no doubt. But I can see potential friction with Arteta. Someone like Viktor Gyökeres would blend better, but if Arsenal want to lift the Premier League title, they should go all-in for Alexander Isak.”
The French legend believes Isak, currently shining at Newcastle United, offers the ideal combination of adaptability, style, and immediate impact. “Isak fits Arsenal like a glove. No need for a settling period—he hits the ground running and boosts their title charge,” Gallas said.
