U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has sparked nationwide debate after demanding the impeachment of Donald Trump following his shocking airstrikes on Iran’s top nuclear facilities.
The outspoken New York Democrat slammed the former president for bypassing Congress and launching military action without proper authorization, calling it an “unconstitutional abuse of power.”
According to AOC, Trump’s unilateral decision to target Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan nuclear sites not only violated Congressional War Powers, but also recklessly endangered American lives and global peace.
“He has impulsively risked launching a war that may ensnare us for generations. It is absolutely and clearly grounds for impeachment,” she declared.
Other lawmakers joined the chorus, with Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) stating bluntly, “This is not Constitutional,” while Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT) blasted the administration for leaving Congress in the dark.
As the political firestorm intensifies, the calls for Trump’s impeachment are growing louder across both party lines.
