Director-General of the National Sports Commission, Bukola Olopade, has reassured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s $100,000 reward for each Super Falcons player will be fully delivered.
The pledge, made after the team’s historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph in Morocco on July 26, also includes $50,000 for each technical crew member, three-bedroom apartments in Abuja, and national honours.
While team captain Rasheedat Ajibade recently revealed the players were yet to receive the promises or match bonuses, Olopade confirmed in an interview that all tournament bonuses have been paid — except for “one or two” players facing banking issues.
He added that plans for the Abuja apartments are already in motion, with discussions ongoing between the Ministry of Housing and the Renewed Hope Homes initiative.
