The internet is buzzing as popular Nollywood actress Aisha Lawal has finally broken her silence following explosive allegations made by a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW). The drama began when a viral video surfaced featuring union member Istijabah, who accused the Lagos NURTW chairman MC Oluomo of lavishing union funds on Nollywood actresses, while hardworking union members continue to suffer.
In the video, Istijabah specifically mentioned Aisha Lawal, claiming she received a Toyota Venza allegedly bought with union money. According to him, “Aisha Lawal benefited from a Venza I worked hard to pay for… she was even flaunting the car online smiling like nothing happened.”
However, Aisha Lawal didn’t waste time clearing the air. In a strongly-worded response on her TikTok page, the actress stated:
“I have never owned or even driven a Venza in my entire life. I studied Law for 7 years and I know my rights. I’ll be taking legal action against Istijabah for defamation.”
She went further to throw subtle shade, boasting:
“Venza? That’s way below the level of the car I’m driving now. I don’t even like Venza!”
Dismissing any rumors of a close bond with MC Oluomo, she added:
“I don’t have that kind of relationship with MC Oluomo for him to give me a car as a birthday gift.”
Social media has been set ablaze with mixed reactions, with fans and followers defending the actress while others call for deeper investigations into the alleged misappropriation of union funds.
