Reality TV star Nina Ivy has weighed in on the ongoing paternity controversy surrounding businessman Cubana Chief Priest. She expressed the view that even if a DNA test confirms Chief Priest as the father, he cannot be legally compelled to take responsibility for the child.

Nina Ivy’s comments came after a viral video showed Hellen, the alleged baby mama, pleading with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma to intervene.

Nina suggested that Hellen knowingly placed herself in a difficult position, especially if she was aware that Chief Priest was married and unwilling to accept the child. She emphasized that, regardless of the DNA results, there is no legal obligation for Chief Priest to support the child.

Nina said …

“If she knew he was married with children and had no intention of claiming her or the child, then she put herself in this situation. A child should never be used to trap someone, especially when there was no real connection between them. The reality is, men are naturally inclined toward polygamy, and in this case, she will have to handle this on her own because he won’t take responsibility. Before deciding to have a child, she should have ensured she had the means to provide for them independently.”

She added …

“@ifynayaa Even if the DNA test is done and confirms that he is the father, that doesn’t mean he will be legally forced to take responsibility for the child.

“Yes, I live in the U.S., but let’s be real this isn’t the U.S. this is Nigeria. Over there , if you choose to have a child with a married man, you are on your own because the system does not work in your favor. It’s unfortunate, but that’s the reality. Yes, men should be held accountable, but let’s not ignore the fact that women also have a responsibility to protect themselves. Hoping a married man will suddenly change and take responsibility is wishful thinking. In Nigeria, if you don’t think ahead, you’ll be left to deal with the consequences alone.”
