In a fresh wave of fallout for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the Chase Farm Hospital in north London has removed a commemorative plaque that once marked its grand opening by the former Duke of York. The hospital, which is part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, confirmed that the decision followed the recent move by King Charles III to strip Andrew of his royal title and privileges.

The Trust stated that the plaque — unveiled during a star-studded ceremony in 2019, when the hospital’s new £200 million facility was officially opened — no longer reflects its values or leadership ties. “Following the recent changes to his status, the plaque at Chase Farm Hospital is being taken down,” a spokesperson confirmed. “Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has had no association with our Trust since 2022 when he was removed as patron.”

At the 2019 event, Andrew had buried a time capsule with hospital staff and toured the facility. However, the removal of the plaque marks yet another public embarrassment for the disgraced royal, who is also facing eviction from his Windsor residence, Royal Lodge.
