43-year-old makeup artist Adekoya Adebukonla Mary has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos after being caught with 2.2kg of cocaine cleverly hidden in the walls of her suitcase.

Adekoya, who claimed she was traveling to India for fibroid surgery, was apprehended just before boarding her Qatar Airways flight. Upon interrogation, she confessed that her trip was actually for financial gain, and not for any medical procedure.
NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi revealed that the operation was based on credible intelligence and that Adekoya was working for a drug baron, Akeem Ayinde Adekanbi, owner of Rockford Hotel in Sango, Ogun State, who is currently on the run.
The agency has since launched a manhunt for the notorious kingpin.
This latest bust is a strong warning from the NDLEA that no disguise will go unchecked.
