Mr. Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, the father of late Nigerian music star Mohbad, has opened up in a deeply emotional interview with social commentator and activist VeryDarkMan, sharing heartbreaking details about the tragic final hours of his son’s life. This marks the fifth interview VDM has conducted with individuals closely tied to the growing controversy surrounding Mohbad’s sudden death on September 12, 2023.
In the now-viral video shared via VDM’s Instagram page, Mr. Aloba recalled the moment everything changed. Around 4:30 p.m., he received a distressing call from Iya Moh — Mohbad’s mother — informing him that the singer was in the hospital and feeling seriously unwell. What seemed like a minor health scare quickly spiraled into the most devastating news of his life.
The interview comes shortly after VDM spoke with one of Mohbad’s close friends, who also revealed shocking new insights. As the search for justice continues, Mohbad’s family and fans are still demanding clarity and accountability over the events that led to the young artist’s tragic passing.
He recalled:
“I waited so we could go together. She came with Wunmi’s aunty, Iya Tunde, and we got on a ferry.”
While they were on their way, several calls came in. One call, in particular, stood out. It was from Darosha Mohbad’s cousin and close associate.
He said:
“He told me, ‘You can go back home, Moh is fine and receiving treatment.’ But I refused. I knew something was wrong.”
By the time they arrived at Osapa London bus stop around 6:30 p.m., Mr. Aloba said he became even more certain that things weren’t right. They eventually reached the house at about 9:00 p.m.
He shared:
“The first thing I saw was a duvet soaked with blod. I was confused.”
Soon after, Mohbad’s friend, Lifestyle, called him downstairs. There, he saw his son’s lifeless body on the floor, surrounded by Islamic clerics. According to him, the house was filled with people, including Zlatan, DJ Bami, Darosha, and Mohbad’s lawyer.
He also said Wunmi, the singer’s wife, was crying and explained that Mohbad had reacted badly to an injection.
As a pastor, Mr. Aloba said he instantly dismissed that explanation.
Even more disturbing events unfolded at the police station.
He said:
“We went to the police station. As I was giving my statement, someone came out and said they must not give me the police report because I didn’t report his death on time.”
Mohbad’s father has dropped more shocking revelations, claiming Wunmi had the doctor’s report but stayed silent, and that his son’s body was embalmed at home without his consent after a morgue allegedly refused to accept it that night.
