The controversy surrounding the death of Nigerian music star Mohbad has deepened following a new revelation by his sister-in-law, Karimot Ogunbayo. In response to a now-viral throwback video showing Mohbad in a wheelchair with Zlatan Ibile and some women, Karimot has spoken out, shedding disturbing light on events leading up to the artist’s untimely death.
According to Karimot, the tragic incident took place on June 25, 2023. She alleged that music promoter Sam Larry showed up armed with a gun and fully intended to kill Mohbad, only to be stopped by Zlatan Ibile’s refusal to leave the scene. She claimed Mohbad was violently assaulted over an undisclosed amount of money — funds she said were eventually transferred to Naira Marley, who allegedly did nothing to intervene.
Karimot also named others present — Lifestyle, OG, and Bode — stating they were also beaten by Sam Larry but managed to escape, leaving Mohbad behind. She dared Zlatan to refute her claims and demanded justice for the late singer, calling for everyone involved to be held accountable.
