The conflict between Israel and Iran has reached a dangerous new level, as Israel’s military announced that it conducted a massive overnight aerial assault on Tehran, marking the eighth consecutive day of direct hostilities between the two rival nations.
In a chilling statement released Friday, June 20, the Israeli army confirmed that it executed a “series of precision strikes” targeting critical sites allegedly tied to Iran’s nuclear weapons development program. Among the locations hit were missile production facilities and the headquarters of Iran’s Organisation of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND) — a body accused by Israel of spearheading nuclear weapons research.
According to the IDF, over 60 fighter jets participated in the high-risk operation, bombing facilities believed to be involved in missile engine production and advanced weapons technology. The military claims the strikes were aimed at dismantling infrastructure vital to Iran’s alleged nuclear ambitions.
This operation follows recent missile attacks on Israeli soil, with cities like Tel Aviv and Jerusalem hit by rockets, sending shockwaves across the nation.
As global leaders call for calm and de-escalation, the fear of a full-blown Middle East war is growing louder.
