Inter Milan have officially pulled the plug on their chase for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman after negotiations with Atalanta broke down.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Nerazzurri will meet Lookman’s representatives within 24 hours to confirm that the deal is off. Talks had dragged on for two weeks, but Atalanta stood firm on their valuation of the 26-year-old, refusing to lower their asking price.
Despite Inter’s confidence, no agreement was reached, forcing them to walk away. Club sources also denied rumors linking the deal to Nicola Zalewski’s potential move from Roma to Atalanta. Lookman, who joined
Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022, has been a standout performer, shining both in Serie A and for Nigeria at AFCON 2023, where he netted three goals to help the Super Eagles reach the final.
