Suspected bandits, disguised as operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), abducted 10 people from White Hill Hotel on Shiroro Road in the Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State.
According to intelligence sources cited by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the incident occurred at about 4:58 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2025. The armed men stormed the hotel, falsely claiming to be EFCC personnel on an official operation.
Their ruse allowed them to abduct hotel guests under the pretence of law enforcement, leaving the community shocked and raising serious concerns about security breaches.
“It was gathered that the suspects disabled the hotel’s CCTV cameras before entering guests’ rooms one by one and forcibly taking away 10 individuals to an unknown destination,” the report said.
According to the report, the Assistant Commissioner of Police from the State Intelligence Department confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway to identify those responsible for the abduction.
Authorities are actively gathering evidence and following up on leads to locate the abducted victims.
The investigation underscores the commitment to quickly resolving the case and ensuring that the perpetrators are held accountable for their actions, with further updates expected as the inquiry progresses.
“The public has been urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity, as authorities intensify efforts to uncover the details surrounding the attack,” Makama added.
