Billionaire filmmaker Tyler Perry has sparked major conversations online after revealing why he cut off financial support to some family members—including firing a close relative who repeatedly failed to show up for work.
Speaking on Den of Kings with Kirk Franklin, the 55-year-old entertainment mogul explained that he offered his aunt a job to help her become independent, but she kept slacking, assuming family ties would protect her. “You want the money, but you don’t want to work for it,” Perry recalled telling her before letting her go.
He also shared how he’s instilling work ethic in his 10-year-old son, Aman. From making him do chores before earning allowance to making him fly coach after he complained about commercial flights, Perry is determined to teach his son humility and responsibility.
