Popular actress and skitmaker Kemi Ikuseedun, aka Mummy Wa, is setting the record straight! In a candid chat with Pot-Pourri, the comedic queen opened up about being typecast in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
“Every time I step on set, it’s ‘give us that Mummy Wa vibe’,” she shared. “Yes, I love the character — and I get it — Mummy Wa has connected deeply with people. But I’m also an actress with range. Even Mummy Wa no be only comedy — sometimes she get depth!”
Kemi is calling for more challenging roles that allow her to showcase her full talent, saying she’s more than just a one-role wonder.
On the pressure of fame, she also dropped real talk about mental health and vulnerability. “We don’t owe the world our pain. Sharing your struggles should be a choice, not a performance,” she said.
