“God Warned Me My Firstborn Would Die If I Left RCCG” — Pastor E.A. Adeboye Shares Powerful Testimony

In a deeply emotional and spiritually charged moment, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed a chilling divine warning he received years ago. Speaking during the June Holy Ghost Service titled “Destined for Greatness (Part 2)” at Redemption City, Ogun State, the revered man of God said the Lord told him his first child would die if he ever left RCCG.

Pastor Adeboye emphasized the importance of spiritual obedience and consistency, referencing a sermon by his son, Pastor Leke Adeboye, and warning young believers against constantly hopping from one church to another in search of miracles or vibes.

He recalled how, after getting born again, he had the option to join three popular ministries at the time. Yet, God instructed him firmly: “Son, I brought you here. This is where you will stay. The day you leave this denomination, your firstborn will die.”

Despite RCCG being relatively unknown back then just a modest church in Ebute-Metta, Lagos Adeboye, a university lecturer, submitted himself to the leadership of his spiritual father, a man with no formal education. This, he said, was an act of total surrender to divine direction.

He encouraged the youth to discover where God has planted them and to remain rooted there. “I’m not saying RCCG is better than other denominations,” he clarified, “but obedience to God’s instruction is key to fulfilling destiny.”

This heartfelt revelation has sparked massive reactions online and has further cemented Adeboye’s legacy as a man truly led by God.
