Former Minister of Sports Solomon Dalung has shared a shocking encounter he once had with a suspected bandit on TikTok. Speaking in an interview with News Central, Dalung revealed that he was scrolling through the app when the bandit suddenly appeared on the live session. Curious and concerned, he confronted the man, questioning why bandits continue to k!ll, attack, and terrorize innocent Nigerians.
“I was on Tiktok one day and a young bandit, trained in the bush. He said he is a bandit in the bush. Then I asked him ;why do you k!ll people?’ and he said ‘’well, they were also k!lled and their cattles taken away by the vigilantes and so they took up arms and are in the bush.
And I said ‘But you k!ll also kill fulanis like you and rustle their cows’ and he told me ‘’look, the only Fulanis they know are the ones in the bush. Anyone that is in the town is not a fulani’ If they see them, they will k!ll them.”
Dalung explained that he demanded to know what could be done to end the violence. Surprisingly, the bandit responded, claiming they were willing to drop their weapons — but only through proper negotiation.
“The confidence he was talking with was quite scary”
The revelation has sparked new conversations about dialogue, national security, and the rising wave of banditry in Nigeria.
