In a surprising twist, federal prosecutors have dropped several major allegations against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs in his ongoing New York criminal trial. According to a letter filed with Judge Arun Subramanian, charges of attempted kidnapping, attempted arson, and aiding and abetting s3x trafficking have been withdrawn just one day before closing arguments.
The decision, prosecutors say, was made to streamline jury instructions. Notably, the dismissed allegations include the alleged kidnapping of Capricorn Clark and the car explosion involving rapper Kid Cudi, for which no direct evidence linking Diddy was presented during trial.
While Diddy still faces multiple s3x trafficking counts, elements such as aiding and abetting have been removed from consideration.
