Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo has broken her silence after being summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection with her daughter Priscy’s lavish wedding to Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.

The highly publicized ceremonies, held on April 17 and 19, 2025, in Lagos, were filled with glamor, luxury, and a spectacular display of wealth. Social media buzzed with clips showing guests spraying bundles of both naira and foreign currency on the couple and Iyabo Ojo during the celebrations.

While in the UK, Iyabo received a formal invitation from the EFCC. Upon her return to Nigeria on May 5, she honored the summons and presented herself for questioning. According to the actress, EFCC officials questioned her about her personal life, businesses, and her involvement in the wedding ceremony.

She revealed that officials informed her it is illegal to spray any form of currency, including foreign ones like the dollar, on people. Shocked by the revelation, she advised Nigerians to be cautious and avoid partaking in the act to prevent legal trouble.

Iyabo Ojo added that she was released the same day, although her personal lawyer, O.I. Salami, remained on standby in case she is needed again. She concluded by urging Nigerians to reconsider the cultural practice of money spraying and prioritize lawful celebration practices.
