Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is at a legal crossroads as a federal judge is set to rule today, Tuesday, June 10, on a possible mistrial in his ongoing s3x trafficking and racketeering case. The courtroom saga, now in its 19th day, took a major twist after Diddy’s defense team filed a fresh motion citing key contradictions in the prosecution’s testimony.
The motion centers on new text messages sent by singer Cassie Ventura, which allegedly undermine her previous claim that she witnessed Diddy holding Bryana Bongolan over a balcony. In one message to Kristina Khorram, Cassie reportedly said, “I just found out some crazy sh*,”* suggesting she learned of the incident after it happened — not as an eyewitness.
The defense also disputes the timeline of events, pointing to metadata from photos of Bongolan’s injuries that show they were taken while Diddy was allegedly on the East Coast, not Los Angeles where the alleged incident occurred.
Judge Arun Subramanian confirmed on Monday that he’ll announce his decision today. Meanwhile, testimony continues, with a woman identified as “Jane” delivering intense details about drug use and bizarre s3xual encounters involving Diddy.
This marks the second attempt by Combs’ legal team to push for a mistrial — the first involved disputed fingerprint evidence linked to rapper Kid Cudi.
Whatever the judge decides, the outcome could have major implications for one of the most high-profile celebrity trials of the year.
