Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has joined the growing chorus of voices demanding the release of controversial social media personality, VeryDarkMan, who was recently detained under circumstances that have sparked public outrage.
According to reports, VeryDarkMan was arrested shortly after he visited a GTBank branch with his mother to challenge what they claim was an unauthorized loan deduction from her account. Since then, his family has been unable to reach him.
His brother, Mark, and friend Kokopee were reportedly barred from seeing him or delivering food at the EFCC’s Abuja office. Officials cited a standing order restricting visitation and external food delivery.
The situation has triggered an outpouring of concern online, with fans, activists, and now celebrities urging authorities to free him. Davido took to his verified X page to voice his support, acknowledging VeryDarkMan’s bold activism and the positive impact he has made. He praised Nigerians for standing behind the commentator, further amplifying the call for justice.
