Nigeria is set for a spectacular kickoff to the 2025 National Sports Festival (NSF), as award-winning music superstars Davido and Asa have been confirmed to headline the opening ceremony. The exciting announcement was made by Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission, via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday afternoon.
Tagged the “Gateway Games”, the 22nd edition of the NSF will be officially declared open by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the iconic MKO Sports Arena in Ogun State. According to Olopade, this year’s festival aims to reflect the grandeur of the Olympics, showcasing not just top-tier sporting action but world-class entertainment as well.
He emphasized, “This is our own Olympics, and the festival must portray that global feel in both competition and organisation.” With an electric mix of music, culture, and athletics, tonight’s ceremony promises to be unforgettable.
