Controversial music critic Daniel Regha is once again making waves online, this time for his scathing review of the much-anticipated collaboration between Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Olamide. The duo recently dropped their new track “KAI!”, but according to Regha, the song falls drastically short of expectations—so much so that he rated it a disappointing 3 out of 10.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Regha did not hold back in his critique. He called out Wizkid’s lyrical performance as bland and lacking originality, claiming, “Wizkid doesn’t really have a good pen game, so not much is expected from his verse in KAI!”

Regha even went as far as to compare it unfavorably to Wizkid’s feature on Ayra Starr’s “Gimme Dat,” saying the delivery felt recycled and uninspired.

Olamide, a rapper often praised for his sharp wordplay and trend-setting artistry, also came under fire. Regha accused the YBNL boss of playing it too safe and mimicking the sound of Asake instead of bringing his unique flair.

“For someone who’s a lyrical genius, his verse was poorly written and also sounds like Asake,” Regha noted, expressing disappointment in the iconic rapper’s apparent lack of effort.

Although he gave the music video credit for its decent visuals, Regha criticized a particular scene showing Wizkid holding a weed blunt, calling it unnecessary and poorly timed.

Regha wrapped up his thoughts by labeling the track as forgettable, stating it lacks the lasting impact of previous joint efforts like “Omo to Shan.”
