In a chilling case that shocked the nation, the High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi — a self-proclaimed gospel singer, fitness enthusiast, and motivational content creator to death by hanging for the gruesome murd£r of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu.

The horrific crime, which occurred on January 12, 2025, made headlines after Ajayi was apprehended near a church in Orozo, close to Abuja, with a sac containing Salome’s sev£red head. He later led police to the dism£mbered remains of her body.

Charged under Section 221 of the Penal Code, Ajayi put on a dramatic religious display in court praying aloud and attempting to evoke sympathy. But Justice Simon Aboki was unmoved, ruling on June 26 that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt. The court found him fully responsible for the inhuman act and handed down the ultimate sentence: death by hanging.

This case has reignited discussions about safety, justice, and the dark side of social media personas.
