Renowned comedian and filmmaker Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has expressed concern over the high service charges imposed by Nigerian commercial banks.

He questioned how these banks continue to report quarterly profits in trillions of Naira despite economic struggles. AY pointed out that some of these charges are unique to Nigeria and urged for action to challenge them.

On his X handle, AY wrote, “Where do banks get the trillions they declare as profits every quarter, even in a struggling economy?

“The small charges and debits on our accounts need to be challenged. Many of these fees are unique to Nigeria.

“Why is that? #BankingFees #Nigeria #Transparency #Shalom”
