Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has finally broken his silence after yet another round of fake death rumours surfaced online. A Facebook post went viral claiming the legendary actor had passed away following complications from diabetes and spine surgery. But in a swift reaction, the comic star took to his Instagram page, sharing a video where he appeared healthy and energetic, assuring fans and colleagues that he is very much alive and strong.
Chiwetalu Agu expressed deep disappointment that people easily fall for such baseless news without proper verification. He also slammed bloggers who thrive on misleading stories just to chase clout and attention. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the veteran actor has been “killed” online — back in 2020, similar death rumours circulated and he debunked them as well. Agu reminded fans to be cautious, emphasizing that he will outlive his enemies and continue to entertain millions with his craft.
“All because of likes, views, and comments, a blogger wrongly announced my death. They posted ‘RIP’ with my pictures. Let me shock you: Chief Chiwetalu Agu Okenmirin’ezoru1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, is not going to die any time soon.
Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. The one who digs a pit will fall inside; the one who digs a grave will fall into it. I am going to carry my grandchildren.
Fans and family, please disregard any rumors about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. I am very much alive by God’s grace”
