Legendary former Chelsea and Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Čech has announced the heartbreaking end of his 26-year marriage to wife Martina.
The 43-year-old football icon shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, alongside a black-and-white photo of Martina kissing him on the cheek. The couple, who first met as teenagers, have been together through every chapter of Čech’s remarkable career.
They share two children — Adela Čechová (17) and Damian (16). Fans worldwide have flooded his page with messages of support, expressing sadness over the split of one of football’s most admired couples.
He wrote: ‘Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together.
‘We remain best friends and immensely proud of our two children.’

The Czech couple’s love story began in high school back in 1999, leading to their beautiful summer wedding in 2003.
Now, their children are proudly walking in their famous father’s footsteps, with daughter Adela shining as a talented defender for both Fulham and the Czechia U17 national team.
