Veteran actress Bukky Wright has shared her mixed feelings about the current state of Nollywood, citing a decline in professionalism.
In a recent interview on Channels TV with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, she expressed pride in the industry but noted that it no longer upholds the high standards it once did.

Wright highlighted issues like frequent delays on set, with actors arriving late despite scheduled call times. Reflecting on the past, she recalled when training academies played a crucial role in educating actors across various aspects of filmmaking.

While she acknowledged that some newcomers are eager to improve, she noted that others seem complacent. However, she commended those dedicated to refining their craft and pushing for growth.

She said: “I’m gonna tell you that I’m back, and I’m proud of the industry that I’m meeting? Yeah, vice versa. Professionalism, I’m sorry, I don’t really feel it like we used to. Call time is 8 O’clock and you’ll see people coming in by 12 and you’re wondering what’s going on,well they’re superstars and maybe we’re not.”
