The daughters of late Former President Muhammadu Buhari have broken their silence following his heartbreaking de@th in a London hospital on Sunday, July 13. In an emotional interview with BBC Hausa, Hanan Buhari and Hadiza “Nana” Buhari shared their pain, memories, and gratitude to Nigerians.
Hanan, visibly moved, described her father’s passing as “like losing a part of my body.” She thanked Nigerians who chose to forgive her father for any perceived wrongs, saying, “We have nothing to say but thank you, and thank God.”
She reminisced about his sense of humour and how his disciplined lifestyle shaped their lives: “He taught me to study, pray, and be joyful.”
Nana, the eldest daughter, spoke of her final moment with her father: “When I visited him in London and told him I was going back to Nigeria, he simply said, ‘Greet Nigerians.’ That was how much he loved the people.”
Despite the criticism he faced during his lifetime, the former president’s daughters emphasized his genuine love for the people and his belief in discipline and service.
