British-Nigerian heavyweight legend Anthony Joshua has dropped a major bombshell — 2025 could be his last year in professional boxing! The 35-year-old former unified world champion revealed this during a heartfelt appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, where he reflected on his 12-year journey in the sport.
In an emotional tribute, Joshua praised Matchroom Boxing and promoter Eddie Hearn, saying, “Twelve years ago, I signed with you and 12 years later I will throw my last punch with you.” He continued, “Royalty and loyalty is a perfect match for the greater good.”
AJ, who turned pro in 2013 after clinching Olympic gold at London 2012, has become one of the most iconic heavyweights of the modern era. Despite his recent setback — a fifth-round knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024 — Joshua remains a respected figure globally and is expected to step into the ring one final time in 2025.
His rise from Olympic glory to global stardom has redefined British boxing and inspired millions. Though fans are heartbroken, many are gearing up to witness what might be AJ’s epic farewell fight.
Will he go out with a bang? Time will tell.
