Veteran Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has finally addressed being repeatedly overlooked by the AMVCA. Speaking on skit maker Isbae U’s podcast, Chatta, who also owns a film village, revealed he isn’t bothered by the snub.

He stated that if awards truly mattered to him, he would have submitted his work for nomination, but he chooses to focus on storytelling over accolades.

His calm yet bold response has sparked conversations online, with many praising his humility and passion for the craft.

In his words: “I am not interested, why will I be praying for what I am not interested in?. Whenever I am interested, I will submit a film and give it to them to see.”

“I have thought about it, why don’t they invite me because I see younger people attending and winning. Do you know how many awards are in my house?”
